Congrats

Congrats to the Homestead Girls Basketball team. They defeated South Side last night to win their first sectional championship since 1998. They did a great job of handling South Side's full court pressure and made some big shots down the stretch to get the win.

Outright NHC Champs

Congrats to the Homestead Boys Basketball team. The completed the conference season with a Perfect 7-0 record and outright NHC championship in school history Thursday night at Norwell. Great job for a team who only had 4 guys with previous varsity experience and was written off by just about everyone after the graduated so many players from a year ago.

The Pack is on top

Well my team just won it all. It's a great feeling to see them win it. The first football game I remember was Super Bowl 32 between the Packers and the Broncos where John Elway led the Broncos back to win. I was 6 yrs old when that happened and remember crying after they lost haha. And even tho the Packers won the Super Bowl the year before that this is the first one I can actually remember which makes it pretty special. Plus we can now stop talking about Brett Favre because Aaron Rodgers has just as many rings as he does. Go Pack Go!

Hooked

A very nice essay that goes into good detail. It does the proverbial "Paint the Picture" for the most part. It reminds me a many aspects of childhood, Like riding bikes through neighborhoods and fishing with friends in those little ponds most neighborhoods have. I like the details pertaining to all the places he went to go fish and wish I was in one of those southern places right now because its cold here. Pretty nice essay that did not disappoint.

Trine U gets an A+

So I visited Trine Monday and came out of the experience extremely impressed. I had read in the paper that the facilities were great and that the program was doing extremely well. We arrive at the stadium and are directed up the stairs into what i thought was a press box but turned out to be an extremely nice suite like room for people to watch Trine games or to show off to new recruits. Then they showed us actual suites for special guests for games. Not something I expected at a D III school. Plus a stadium that seats 5,000 and routinely gets that and more for home games. Next I noticed that every coach and most players I met were wearing these big silver sparkling rings. Trine has won their last three conference championships including last years. Each time they win they get a ring and I'm not going to lie that was a real incentive in the recruiting process. As one of their players said "You come here we'll getcha a ring". Plus their stadium is new along with the locker room, meeting rooms, and weight room. Trine moved to #1 on the football list of schools we'll just see if that's the route I end up taking.
